Cegid Group is Vendor of Merit in Learning Management

We are happy to share some insights about Cegid Group drawn from our latest Value Index research, Ventana Research Value Index: Learning Management, which assesses how well vendors’ offerings meet buyers’ requirements.

In all of our Value Indexes we utilize a structured research methodology that includes evaluation categories designed to reflect real-world criteria incorporated in a request for proposal (RFP) and vendor selection process for analytics and business intelligence. We evaluated Cegid Group and 13 other vendors in seven categories, five relevant to the product (Adaptability, Capability, Manageability, Reliability and Usability) and two related to the vendor (TCO/ROI and vendor Validation). To arrive at the Value Index rating for a given vendor, we weighted each category to reflect its relative importance in an RFP process, with the weightings based on our experience and on data derived from our Learning Management Benchmark Research.

Cegid Group provides LMS functionality which includes micro- and nano-learning and advanced testing to identify skills gaps. Cegid Group was categorized as a Vendor of Merit, ranking 14th overall in this Value Index evaluation. It ranked 14th in Product Experience and ranked 11th in Customer Experience. Its overall performance was impacted by its lower rankings in TCO/ROI and Usability, which represent 25% of the weighting in the overall Value Index.

Our assessment finds that Cegid Group could perform better by examining its 14th-place ranking in Capability, where its website and other publicly available information may not demonstrate the functionality and feature set of its product. Cegid Group’s ranking of 14th in the Usability category also impacted its overall placement, and it should examine how it supports accessibility and business administration to improve in this area.

This assessment was based on Cegid Group’s Talentsoft LMS 7.1.4 products available in January of 2023.
